Fort Scott Youth Flag Football hits the FSCC turf

Fort Scott CC Greyhounds logoFORT SCOTT, Kan. -- Fort Scott Recreation Center’s Youth Flag Football League started its 2012 season on Saturday, Sept. 15, but the location this year is different than in years past.

This season, the league will play all of their games on the synthetic turf field on the campus of FSCC.

Last season FSCC’s Athletics Director, J.D. Ettore, and FSRC’s Director, Tom Robertson, worked together to have the final Saturday’s slate of games on the turf field and it was a huge success.

“The Greyhounds had a bye that weekend last year, so I was able to watch all of the games that day and it was just fantastic,” said Ettore. “After that, I told Tom that for 2012 we need to have all of the games on the turf field not only because of how much fun the kids were having but also for safety reasons.”

The FSRC coaches agreed with the plan and voted unanimously to play all games at the turf field. You can see the FSRC Youth Flag Football league in action each Saturday through Oct. 20.
