FSCC volleyball team honored by AVCA
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Fort Scott Community College volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 season, the coaches organization announced on Tuesday.
The award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. The Greyhounds were one of only 13 NJCAA programs to earn this award.
“I am so proud of our young ladies. We set academic goals in August and I am proud that they reached those goals,” head coach Lindsay Hill said.
This award comes just weeks after being listed as one of the top programs in the 2011-12 NJCAA Volleyball All-Academic Teams.
